DESCRIPTION:Silver Surfers’ Day is the largest, national, digital li
 teracy campaign for older people in the UK and it’s been running ann
 ually since 2002. SSD provides local people and organisations with all
  the resources and support they need to open their doors to older peop
 le and offer them a taste of digital technology.\n\nFor SSD2010, speci
 al focus will be on encouraging and supporting intergenerational SSD p
 artnerships. They are particularly keen to grow their‘Schools for Si
 lver Surfers‘ initiative, which resulted in 66 partnerships between 
 local schools and sheltered housing schemes in 2009.\n\nDigital Unite 
 are working hard on all aspects of SSD2010, and hope soon to be able t
 o announce some exciting new ideas to make it even bigger and better. 
 In the meantime, make a date in your diary and start thinking about wh
