Hi Roy, That's a novel solution, I'll pop down and see if our community tip has a service like that. Cheers John

If you want extra bits and bobs such as extra memory,a second hard drive, web cam,or whatever.... then the place to go is your local Coucil recyle place. The one a few miles from me always has a shed full of old computer equiptment that has been thro…

I do agree John but they're trying to con the wrong ones, quite frankly. Old folks know the true cost of care only too well and trying to make those figures stand up won't work. As you say, they are in the run up to the election......so treat everyt…

You are so right......even when I was reading it I thought the figures sounded extremely low. What I think they have done, to achieve those rates, is to lump in all the people who pay for care at home (even if it's only a meels on wheels helper) whi…

Hi Margaret, Like Arthur said, it looks like someone is dipping thier toes in the water to see if the topic is too hot. Perhaps if it is more widely publiced, we might get a more responsive reaction. Cheers John

Hi John I think that is a valid point and considering the fact that a greater percentage of "older people" do most of the voteing such a scheme would not be pushed untill the start of a new term. Arthur H

Hi Margaret I think you have it as I see the scheme. In itself it is not a great threat, BUT, government ideas are rolled out to test the water then before you know it things are on the move to law. Like you say, Where do they get these cost figures…

While walking down a street in Belfast with paddy my friend we passed a bread sandwich on the ground that had been squashed. It had bits of wire in it. Paddy stopped and said I am going to phone the gaudia (police) I think thats a bomb.
This he did and when asked is it tickin? He says I don't know it could be Beef or maybe Salmon. Boom Boom

Hi Arthur,
We've got rain at last! I'm like you not to keen on this really hot weather.... everything seems such an effort!
My husband and dad were in the RAF. Carddington was where my husband first went when he joined, we drove past it a few weeks ago, huge hanger. We were at RAF Brampton when we got married, seems strange we have ended up living back round here 40 years later. Where else were you stationed? not a bad life Steve (my husband) left in 1978.
I bet the bowls has kept you very busy this summer, sometimes its hard with rain to get all the matches in... I found it difficult to play with my ankle so am giving it a rest this year, I may try the indoor in the winter can you use the same woods?. I'm walking to get my ankle stronger, its working, doesnt seem quite so swollen now.
Have a good week, good to hear from you.
Regards, Angela.

Hi Authur,
Great to hear from you, yes we are liking living in Hanover, great location St Neots, we are just beginning to find our way around, the park and town just a walk away so plenty of things to do.
We loved to the bowls, decided on the outdoor and went along for a taster at our local one in Stamford (where we moved from) met some lovely people, bought all the gear (not cheap) but now we have it all. Found one in St Neots, the week after I joined I broke my ankle.... so as you can imagine its only been out of the plaster for three weeks so easeing myself in gently. My husband has been able to go and has had some games. I like your idea of how to improve and you can learn so much from people who are good players. Looks like its going to be next year for me now, but I will start to do a few roll-ups.
Has it been hot with you today? just started to cool down a bit here, we could really do with some rain... but mustnt grumble!!
Keep in touch,
Kind regards,
Angela
